Rootmaker - Premier Root Development

Rootmaker Difference

Superior Root Development

Aggie Century Tree, LLC is committed to providing trees with premium root systems. We are part of the RootMaker Certified Gold program to ensure that our Aggie Century Trees have strong root foundations from acorn to seedling and onto adulthood, ensuring longevity for generations to come. While this process entails additional expenses and effort, it guarantees excellent root growth performance.

Rootmaker propagation trays

RootMaker Propagation Trays

All Aggie Century Trees are grown from refrigerator germination in RootMaker Propagation trays. This early root development is a primary and critical step toward creating a fibrous root system. These trays promote horizontal root branching, and a greater root tip surface means greater water and nutrient absorption efficiency.

Rootmaker 1 gallon pot

RootMaker Injected Molded Pots

After germination and propagation, Century Trees are replanted in RootMaker-injected molded pots. These superior pots promote excellent root growth. One-year-old Century Trees are sold in 1-gallon pots, two-year-old Century Trees are sold in 5-gallon pots, and three-year-old Century Trees are sold in 15-gallon pots.

Rootmaker Difference

RootMaker Injected Molded Pots

These RootMaker® containers continue the air-root pruning process and promote horizontal root branching, not just downward growth.

Rootmaker weed cap

RootMaker RootCap

All Aggie Century Trees have RootMaker RootCaps, which eliminate weeds without the use of herbicides. These RootCaps also conserve significant amounts of water, increase root growth, and reduce root zone temperatures.

The RootMaker Difference

All Aggie Century Trees are created using the air-root pruning process. This process takes place in specially designed containers that utilize air to dry out the tips of the roots as they grow through openings in the container. When a root tip is exposed to air, it dries up and dies. This prevents the roots from becoming too long, similar to pruning a bush to keep it from growing out of control.
